
School Health Programme
Health Checkups are being conducted of all Primary School children.Two Mass
De-worming campaigns of Primary School children were held on 28th February
& 5th March, 2007 and 19th September, 2007.Painting competitions were held
in Middle Schools on various health themes on 14th December, 2007. Wall
Calendars and Table Calendars were made out of some of the prize winning
entries.
Blindeness Control Programme
The incidence of blindness
in the State is 1.13 percent viz-a-viz National incidence is 1.49 percent. There are 8 Eye Banks in the State.
PNDT
The sex ratio in Haryana is 861 females/1000 males. The PNDT Act, 1994 strictly
implemented. 961 Genetic Clinics and 66 Genetic Counseling Centres have
been registered. Registration of 169 Ultrasound Clinics have been suspended/cancelled.
46 Ultrasound Clinics are registered in Govt. institutions. 100 Ultrasound
Machines have been seized and sealed by the respective district appropriate
authorities. 4 convictions have been made in the State under PNDT Act.
Family Welfare Programme
The Family Welfare Programme is being implemented as Community Needs Assessments
Approach with the demand of the community and quality of services is the
driving the force in making this programme a peoples programme. In order
to increase male participation in Family Welfare Programme, the No Scalpal
Vesectomy (NSV) technique has been introduced and till date 135 doctors
have been trained in all the districts of the State. During the year 2006-07,
a total of 10949 Vasectomy operations were conducted out of which 10789
were of NSV. It is worth mentioning that the proportion of Vasectomy operations
including NSV viz-a-viz total sterilization which was 0.7 percent in the
year 2000-01 has increased to 12.7 percent during the year 2006-07.
Delivery Huts
475 Delivery Huts established to provide safe delivery services with privacy,
clean & hygienic environment and strong referral network. So far 40474 deliveries
have been conducted in these delivery huts since the inception of the programme.
This scheme was implemented in a phased manner. During 2005-06, a provision
of Rs.3.00 crore, during the year 2006-07 a provision of Rs.2.00 crore and
in the year 2007-08 Rs.30.00 lakh was made to establish and run these delivery
huts.
Pulse Polio Programme
The goal of this programme is polio eradication. In the year 2007 ten rounds
of Pulse Polio were conducted in the State out of which 2 were national
rounds in January & February, 2007 which were conducted in all the districts
had coverage of 100.71 percent and 100.47 percent respectively. There were
7 State rounds out of which some were conducted in all the districts and
some were for migratory population of all or a few districts. The percentage
coverage of all these rounds was above 98 percent. In the year 2008, one
National Round was also held on 4.1.2008 which had coverage of 99.73 percent.
The next NID was on 10.2.2008. The performance of January, 2008 PPI round
is best ever in the last 2-3 years as per WHO Monitors.
Mewat Mobile Services
In Mewat district, Mobile Services have been started from 2nd October by providing 9 Ambulances for
transferring pregnant women to the nearest health institution. 1500 deliveries have been conducted so far in
institutions. The Drivers have been given Mobile Phones to ensure timely and easy availability. The Health Department
is proposing to launch a similar scheme in other difficult areas of the State like Morni (Panchkula).
